Jessica Rachel Freireich and Geoffrey Harris Mattson were married on Dec. 28 at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau. Edwina M. Townes, a staff member of the New York City Clerk's office, officiated.
On Jan. 3, Rabbi Marcelo Bronstein is to perform the religious ceremony at the Community House of Congregation B'nai Jeshurun in Manhattan.
Ms. Freireich, 40, who is keeping her name, works at the Rockefeller Foundation in Manhattan, where she is the director who monitors the effectiveness of grants made by the organization and the performance of its programs. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard, from which she also received a n M.B.A.
She is a daughter of Nancy L. Freireich and Paul Freireich of Manhattan. The bride's father, who is retired, was the head of the copy desk for the Travel section of The New York Times. Her mother, who is on the board of B'nai Jeshurun, retired as the director of publications and Web communications from Columbia Business School in Manhattan.
Until November, Mr. Mattson, 48, worked in Manhattan as a manager overseeing a team that sold corporate bonds and other securities at SMBC Nikko Securities of Japan. He graduated from the University of Michigan and received an M.B.A. from Northwestern. His previous marriage ended in divorce.
He is the son of Diana C. Mattson of Manhattan, and the late Robert N. Mattson. The groom's mother is a clinical social worker at Hour Children, an organization in Long Island City, Queens. His father was an assistant treasurer and the chief tax officer at I.B.M. in Armonk, N.Y.
