Face in the Crowd: Mark Ronson at Burberry

LONDON — When it comes to the London men's wear shows, Burberry is widely considered the jewel in the crown and one of the few events able to lure an A-list front row. The British behemoth starts proceedings promptly, unlike a vast majority of shows, so, about 15 minutes before the lights go down, there's often a celebrity or four standing around. Styles caught up with Mark Ronson, the D.J. and producer, in the tent in Kensington Gardens.

Is this your first fashion show?

It isn't my first fashion show, but it is my first Burberry show. I've wanted to come along for a while now.

Why?

Well, because it is a cult British brand, and I think Christopher Bailey has done some incredibly exciting things both with fashion and music. The performers he has during the shows are often second to none.

How so?

Well, because usually they appear here right before they hit the big time. He knows where the tipping point is, and that's a fine art, whatever field you are in. I keep thinking back to the work he did with Patrick Wolf. That was absolutely superb.

What sort of projects are you working on at the moment?

I never like to talk about what I'm working on, to be honest. Let's just say some cool stuff. You'll hear about it soon enough.

Right. And where to after the show?

Back to work in the studio, of course. This is basically my lunch break.
