Choosing The Best Theater Seats In A Movie

By April Briggs

The theater has evolved dramatically over the years and ages. Back in the olden days the theaters were a popular venue for performance arts most cities had one. Aging from as back as the seventeenth century, this entertainment spots used to be a place where plays were recreated from the best composers of the time like William Shakespeare. Music was also shown in all the theaters. The likes of Johan Sebastian Bach were listened to in theaters. To this day, this concept has lived on and just like in olden days, finding the best theater seats is important.

Movie theaters have changed over the years. Back in the day, you would pay more money to sit in a front row since that was the only place where you could have a clear view of the screen. This was changed to raising the screen position but there was a flaw in this arrangement too, it was so tiresome to the viewers. In recent days the seat arrangement has been changes such that instead of being behind somebody, your seat has been raised a bit. This and the fact that screens are larger than they used to be means that the experience is somewhat standardized.

Sound quality is one factor you keenly have to consider for a better movie experience. This is because if you get good sound reception, the movie will be almost real. Sound experts argue that the best place to sit in a cinema for the best sound reception is the center seats or the seats at the back. This is because the positioning of the speakers is aimed to optimize reception in these areas of the space.

Sitting on the right hand side in a movie theater or cinema has been seen to be preferred by most people. Some would say that they sit there since it is the first place they looked when they got in the hall. This may be true but a study showed that this is no coincidence. Your body makes this subconscious decision since by sitting there it allows for the processing of information by the right brain hemisphere. This means that since the right hemisphere is involved with emotions, the movie will have a greater impact on you.

Another factor is the kind of people who are next to you. There are people who can totally ruin the experience for you even when you are in the best seats available. This is why people like going for movies with friends. This way you surround yourself with a bunch of people you are used to and it is the familiarity that gives you comfort.

If you are with a lover or spouse at a movie you would want to pick a pair of seats at the back. It has been noted that most lovers share inside jokes about movie scenes. They therefore prefer sitting in the back where they will not cause a disturbance when this scenes come and it is also a place where they can enjoy their privacy.

If you are in an IMAX cinema, the story is different, this is because the format in this cinema is different from the conventional cinema, and in this case you are looking for a place where you have the entire screen in your field of vision.

The next time you plan to go out for a movie you should take heed of these tips in order to get the best experience.
