Clean Your Pool Yourself With These Tips

Pool season arrives and with it comes the good weather, sunbathing and also a daunting task, maintaining pools. If you want to learn to do it yourself takes note of these tips. If the pool has been empty during the winter, the first thing is to check for cracks or repairs by dislodged tiles, and fix them. Depending on what type of pool system you have you can use a brush or cleaning chemicals to get the job done. However, be sure that you never use any type of soap products because it can result in reactive effects with other chemicals in the pool.

Don't simply fill up your pool without checking the filter and pump to make sure everything is working how it should be. Each system is different and maintenance of your water treatment system is an important aspect of keeping your pool safe from dangerous bacterias. If possible be sure to call your local pool specialist to check your pool and filter system at least once a year to make sure everything is working properly.

Chemical treatments with chlorine are essential to disinfect pools. This prevents viruses and bacterias from getting into the water and then moving into our bodies while in the pool. This is a product that should be maintain and added properly and if the pool has received excessive use during the summer it's ok to double the dose of chlorine. Remember not to throw the chlorine tablets into the pool because it can damage the floor of the pool.

During the bathing season it may be necessary to add flocculant to remove organic matter trapped on the filter. You may want to add defoamers to lower the concentration of algaecide or residues of sunscreens. We hope these tips are of great value to you.
