Help Back Pain Using A Pregnancy Back Brace

Research has found that almost half of pregnant women will at some point experience back pain. Most of the pain in happens in the last trimester, however it can last for several months after having the baby. The pregnancy back brace is a good way to treat the pain and these can be used after the baby has arrived as well. Every women who has experienced having a baby will be able to discuss in great detail all of the pain that she experienced. The pains that are experienced can affect the daily activity that the woman is able to do and it can also affect the ability of the person to work.

The change in body posture is what is thought to cause most of this pain. Most of this pain is experienced in the lower back, pelvis and pubic areas. One of the braces can help to reduce the pain. There is a range of exercises that can be done and these help with stretching and mobilising the muscles. A cold or hot compress can also help to reduce the amount of pain that is experienced.

The pain that can be experienced in pregnancy tends to be as a result of physiological or biomechanical changes which take place in the body. Having a baby stretches the abdominal muscles and they can then become ineffective in maintaining a normal posture.

During pregnancy a lot of pressure is put on the ligament and this leads to instability which will be aggravated due to the slackening of the ligaments by the hormone known as relaxin. Relaxin is secreted during the later part of pregnancy to encourage the muscles to relax in the pubic area.

Some of the methods of pain relief that would normally be available to non-pregnant women will not be available due to the pregnancy. These methods can include electrotherapeutics. Join adjustments or manipulations and whirlpool are contradicted and although there is no evidence that they harm the fetus it is fair to say that it is not worth the risk.

There is a lot of safe methods that can be used to treat pain that happens in pregnancy. The safe methods include hot water bottles, heated pads, massages or a supportive brace.

It is possible to reduce the amount of pressure on the back just by making small changes. Low heeled supportive shoes will be a good idea for during pregnancy as this will help to give this area of the body some support, through ensure the correct curvature of the back.

Another thing that is worth doing is to not lift anything that is heavy or if you need to lift something then do it in the correct way. Lifting things in the correct way will mean that you are able to avoid putting stress on your back.
