For first timers, go in feet first to avoid injuries.

Keep a look on elderly citizens and children. In most cases, they are prone to shore attacks and may react slowly to danger. They should not be allowed deep sea. This is because, they may panic from strong tides and waves hence cause a lot of footing. Such footing may in the long run end up being a stampede hence cause injury to people in close vicinity.

Restrict human animal conflict near sea shores. This is through removal of both plant and animal life close at shore. Plants may end up choking swimmers hence cause death. Some animals have fatal stings hence affect human swimming close. However, do advice swimmers against swimming deep seas especially if the shore has no life guards. Animals should not be provoked anyway.

There are some instances where persons get trapped in rip currents. It is advisable for one to stay calm till it settles. One should not fight against it and if possible, swim parallel to the shore until one is out of it. If one is unable to swim, trying floating on the water then head to the shore. Such advice should be given to swimmers so as to ensure their safety.

For persons trapped in water, seek assistance from lifeguards and experienced swimmers. However, where the two are not there, it is advisable to call the emergency line for assistance. Meanwhile, throw the victim floating items, for example a life jacket. An inflatable ball may come in handy so as the person to stay afloat. Proceed to giving instructions on how to avoid currents.
