Change Who You Are With Tattoo Cover Up Makeup

By Jayne Rutledge

At the end of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo', the title character completely changes her life. She creates bank accounts into which she transfers the bad guy's millions but to get to that money she needs to look clean-cut. A conservative outfit, a wig and tattoo cover up makeup help her to look the part and she becomes very, very rich while effecting revenge too.

It is not only in fiction that people may have to hide the designs imprinted in their skin. Some companies are quite conservative and to work there, you'd have to cover up. This is even more important if you've chosen a design that might offend others. It's not always possible to hide your tattoos underneath your clothes, especially not if they're on your face or neck, and you'd need to find an alternative.

Actors often have to find ways to hide their ink too. Angelina Jolie simply wouldn't be convincing in a period drama if the coordinates of the places where her children were born were there on her upper arm for everyone to see. Even if the character can sport tattoos, the actor's own designs should be suitable for the role or it won't work. A gangster with fairies or butterflies on his arms or back would just look silly.

People who work with former gang members in women's prisons often find that the most desired item among the inmates is something that they can use to hide their gang tattoos. For many of these women, those tattoos were given to them by force and are a constant reminder of a past they're trying to overcome. Gang tattoos can even be fatal for a reformed gangster venturing into the wrong gang's territory.

Many people get tattooed without really thinking it through. They then regret their decision later on. It's easy enough to remove the ink with laser treatment but this is an expensive option and for some people it's simply impossible to raise the money if they're doing their best just to survive. For them, makeup is a good option.

The most important thing to remember when choosing cover up makeup is that it should match your skin tone. If it doesn't, it will be even more conspicuous than the tattoo itself. Apply the concealer first and when it is dry, add a few layers of foundation and a final dusting of matte powder. Don't touch it or let any clothing come into contact with it until it has dried completely or you'll end up with a smudged mess.

Before you worry too much about your ink, make sure that you will really need to hide it. In the past, having tattoos meant that you were a rebel or an outcast. Today it means you've been to the mall and even grannies now sport permanent designs. Maybe you'll arrive for that job interview to find that your potential boss is inked all over too.

Good tattoo cover up makeup is available from online suppliers. You'll also find it at stores that sell cosmetics for the theater and even at some bridal stores. If you're desperate and only need to hide your ink for an hour or two, you may try a combination of white face paint and foundation or, for small designs, a tanning spray.
