How To Wear Belly Dancing Jewelry

By Marissa Velazquez

If you want to complete your belly dancing outfit it is advisable to add some jewelry. When a dancer is on stage he or she should represent beauty, elegance as well as grace. There are different accessories that dancers can use to complete their look. Headbands, earrings, anklets, bracelets as well as necklaces are some of the items that will make a belly dancer appear beautiful and elegant. There are many options when it comes to choosing dancing jewelry.

The most preferred materials when it comes to jewels are silver and gold. If you want to stand above the rest you should match your jewels to your attire. Start by choosing the right necklaces. They should be big, sparkly, bold and chunky. Pick necklaces that have coins that look like your hip scarf. Many necklaces are available in silver or gold but you can also choose those made from gems and stone.

You can either go for necklaces that are long or those that fit tightly around the neck. To achieve a chunkier look you can decide to wear two silver necklaces and one that has a different color such as red. Another accessory that is used by belly dancers is an anklet. Anklets are just like bracelets only that they are worn on the ankles.

Anklets are used to make sound by making sure they have coins. You should only wear this accessory if your feet will show. Belly dancers also rock headgear. These pieces can be simple with medallions and silver chains or they can be complex with coins dangling on your forehead.

Gold and silver earrings are also popular with belly dancers. Though there are several types that fit belly dancers you should stick to heavy and long earrings. You can pick from tribal, Goth and chandelier styles. Match your necklaces and earrings and you are guaranteed to stand out.

Bracelets also help to complete the outfit. For belly dancers the bracelets are made to cover the whole hand and wrist. They are also attached to a ring. They are commonly known as slave chain rings. Bengals are thin and smaller in size. Dancers rock about 20 Bengals on the wrist. Gold and silver are the best colors for bracelets.

To make sure you stand out even more you should have armbands. This accessory is worn above the elbow and upper arm. It is advisable to match the color of the armband to that of the costume you are wearing. Another name for armbands is armlet. You can either get medallions styles or go for silver cobras.

It is important to strike a balance when you are choosing dancing jewelry. When picking necklaces, earrings, armbands, bracelets as well as headgear ensure that you match the colors to your outfit. Make sure you appear fancy as well as elegant. The whole point of using all these jewels is to attract people so that they can stare at you. However, they should be attracted to you for the right reasons. If you wear the right items you will easily draw peoples attention.
