Tips On Selecting Pageant Jewelry

By Georgia Diaz

Beauty pageants offer a lot of young people the chance to showcase their talents and beauty; it is a nervous but exciting experience for contestants because they get to show their skills with large audiences watching. The beauty entailed here is also determined by the pageant jewelry and wardrobe worn by the participants. Some of these competitions have huge price money and the participants must make sure they choose the right gemstones.

When shopping for ornaments, the contestant is required to know that the competition has its rules that dictate what people are allowed to wear. The contestants may like a certain trinket which the judges do not allow to be worn in the completion, however most contests make the regulations known from the first day of the completion. To reduce the risk of disqualification, participants should have a copy of the official house rules before they decide on the ornament to wear.

Ornaments are designed to display a sense of glamour and color, so, any accessory chosen must compliment the outfit. Contestants often have difficulties in selecting these ornaments given various options to pick from. In most scenarios the small necklaces usually have a bigger impact than larger ornaments.

It is important that participants are not left behind as far as latest trends are concerned. Research must be done on the modern ornaments as this may give them extra points if they wow the judges and audiences. In today society latest accessories have a positive effect on people; however some themes for the events do not require the need for modern accessories.

Diamond, gold, platinum and other precious jewels make up many ornaments. The prices of such accessories are mind blowing and not a lot of people can afford them. In the case of beauty pageants which normally run for a few days, some shops offer the chance for clients to hire them at an affordable fee. Contestants are advised to go for this option so as to not have negative financial implications in future. Second hand dealers such as pawn shops also sell used trinkets that many people can afford.

The wardrobe worn is required to match and so are the ornaments worn. It does not necessarily mean that a full matching set is to be bought. It simply means that all the colors, metals, shapes and stones on the necklaces and bracelets should look as similar as they can.

As soon as the ornaments have been bought, the participant has to check for any faults on the accessory. Ignoring small mistakes on the charms may come to cost the contestant in the long run. The only focus of the judges of any occasion is perfection, therefore any damages or missing parts of the ornament should be repaired.

Skin tone dictates a lot in the type of pageant jewelry to be worn. Gold charms tend to compliment dark and warm colored skins while platinum and silver compliment lighter and cooler skins. Some trinkets have a mixture of different metals and can go well with all skin tones. Choosing the right gems to wear is very important.
