The tie should be at the back and in case there is any excess cloth at the back then it should be brought to the front and tied here. This piece of cloth is worn under the headgear and is commonly referred to as Patka.
Next, you will be required to hold the end of the rolled up turban with the use of your teeth. Then, roll it to the back of the head as well as around the ear, which should be 2-3 inches on top of the right side ear. The wrapping should be done ensuring the left ear is partially covered by the headgear.
Next, the headgear should be wrapped again around the head for a second time. With the previous wrap higher on the left side and lower on the right side. Ensure the next wrap is the exact opposite.
For five more times, the headgear should go round the head. This should be higher to the left and lower on the right side. Trimming any extra material with scissors is the next step. This is to enable proper tucking of the turban at the back of the head.
Some inches should be reduced from the first wrap. Cover the head well by carefully unfolding it and spreading it over the head. Hold the material on its sides and tuck it at the area where the headgear surrounds the head. Tuck behind any extra material at the back.
