Different People And Different Funny Turbans

By Jennie Sandoval

The world is a ground for many people of different beliefs to flourish. The existence of various cultures all lead to the establishment of different religions or way of living. But as a whole, people still adopt things that they can identify with each other. Others may be so uptight with their beliefs but others take things lightly and even go fun with things. It is not surprising then that there are some who wear funny turbans on some gatherings.

Many people actually share common practices despite some differences in their ways of thinking. The beliefs that people have often serve as a guard for others to treat them. The way they dress for instance, make it clear who and what they are in the society or in their religion. It is very prevalent still in the world because people are very eager to preserve the things they believe.

The need to belong to a certain group is very common among people. There are those who work really hard to achieve a certain status in society. Others wear some things in order to identify themselves with a religious group. In whatever forms though, they have learned to embrace the fact that fun can also be incorporated even if they are very serious with their beliefs.

Indians have the pagari which is a very long piece of cloth. It is usually eighty feet long and thirty feet wide. The colorful cloth is worn by the elders when they attend some special gatherings. The sons also get to wear the ones their fathers wear when the authority is already passed to them.

In Jamaica, members of the Rastafarian religion would wear clothes that have black, green and red colors to signify their religion. They would often use these to cover the dreadlocks that they are also wearing. Most people easily identify the Rastafarian because of this.

The Sikhs preserve their religious beliefs and traditions. They also wear a piece of garment to identify them as warriors of religion. This also give them a status in the society where they belong to. They would often wear this to set them apart from other people. This garment may also have the metallic Chond Tora which helps keep their hair as they never cut it off.

The Jews also wear garments which serve to cover their heads. It is not something that was imposed to them by groups or religions but they practice it for style and safety. Most of them however are no longer using this and are instead wearing black hats.

The people belonging to the Akurinu in Kenya also have religious observances. The men, women and children are given the rights to wear a white or blue piece of cloth on their heads. They are mostly shaving their heads so this can also protect them from the elements.

There are performers who wear the funny turbans to serve as attraction for their acts. With people opening up to various things, wearing these are no longer limited to members of groups or religions. Regardless of that, those who use this for sacred purposes still preserve their beliefs and customs.
